It is always sad to see an exhibition come down – and the show at Silverprint was no exception.
Yes, there was the usual rush and last minute panic in the weeks before the opening back in May. But the highs of the private view, the fear of the Q&A session in front of a packed gallery, the thrill of healthy sales and the joys of the two extensions (it came down on the 1st of July instead of the 12th of June) made it all worthwhile.
Fraser and the rest of the staff were a joy to work with, the space was fantastic and the quality of the footfall (and feedback) was wonderful.
As usual, taking it down was far easier than putting it up, but my heart was far heavier. It was truly sad to see it come down.
Usually, over time, your memories of an exhibition stray from the reality of what is was really like, perhaps improving the faults or shortcomings…but not in this case. Going through the snaps I took with my phone and sorting them into something I can show on the site only confirmed what I already knew:
It was a fantastic show, a resounding success and a fantastic venue.
